A voice-first Dutch language tutor — you speak, it corrects you, and you learn through natural conversation instead of drills. GPT-4 for dialogue, Whisper for speech-to-text, ElevenLabs for streaming voice, and a custom SM-2 spaced-repetition engine for vocabulary and grammar.

A personal mood tracker that also logs medication (if you take any) and your menstrual cycle, so you can tell symptoms apart from the regular, expected fluctuations you may just need to ride out. Dependency-free analysis core — including a small pharmacokinetic model that predicts medication-timing "crashes" from dosing curves.

Two macOS terminal commands that let you close your laptop lid without sleeping it — while still locking the screen. It fills a gap macOS has no built-in switch for ("awake but locked"), using a supervised launchd watcher that can't silently die and leave you exposed.

A playful internal tool that races Positron's nine deep-tech thesis domains against each other by research momentum — the field-normalized velocity and acceleration of publication and patent activity (via OpenAlex). The momentum pipelines (pub-tracker, patent-monitor) feed an arcade-style ball-toss + horse-race frontend, complete with a real physics simulation.

A meeting dashboard built on top of the Attio CRM — surfacing the right context for upcoming founder meetings. React frontend, FastAPI backend, deployed behind nginx + HTTPS.

A monitor for relevant non-dilutive funding (grants) across Positron's thesis domains, in the spirit of pub-tracker and patent-monitor. In early development.

A new way to represent and navigate scientific knowledge: Bye papers, hello claims and evidence.

An AI assistant that carefully explores the scientific literature for you. Designed and built a completely new frontend for Undermind, introducing new UX patterns and a completely revamped design system.

An agentic search engine for scientific publications. An exploration of collaborative reasoning between human and computer. More about the UX than anything. Partnered up with Undermind (above) for real good search.

An interactive map to find sunny terraces near you. Built the business customer facing UI so they can manage their appearance to potential customers.

A new medium for scientific publishing, combining paper, data and code. Coordinated a team of 5 engineers and 2 designers. Designed and re-designed the publishing platform to enable more comprehensive scientific publishing.

Fully recyclable plastics. Designed and implemented the website in Framer, including fun lil animations. Fun fact: I interviewed Manuel (CEO) for an episode of maybe it's not so bad.

As part of the frontend overhaul for Undermind (see above), I also designed and implemented a completely new wesbite in Astro and React. Made some cute visualizations in Figma.
